Now let’s talk about controversies. Even though unknown people can have controversies, why not our former Prime Minister? People whole the world knows about him. So if he did not have any controversies it maybe sound weird. Because we are Malays and Malays have a weird habit which is they jealous with people success even though they try harder to achieve the successful. Sound weird? It is true. This is not Lalaland. This is reality people. Please wake up!

this is we should do

11 September 2001

There are few controversies that can be found when we Google it. First are about 11 September attacks at USA. Because of the attacks, Muslim whole the world have been accused. Regarding to the topic, in 2006, Dr. M had 2 hour talk with James W. Walter and William Rodriguez. He also urged the world’s 1.3 billion Muslims to boycott Dutch products following the release of the anti-islam movie Fitna by the Dutch politician Geert Wilders. He also urged all Muslims to boycott the anti-Islam documentary Islam: What The West Need to Know and called for the arrest of the film directors Gregory Davis and Bryan Daly.

This is FITNA movie

This is Islam: What the West Need to Know documentary

Second is about Indigenous Orang Asli. People known that Dr. M is loudness person. So he post an entry about Orang Asli and comparing them with Native Americans in US, Maoris in New Zealand and Aboriginals in Australia. It's state that Orang Asli were not entitled more rights than Malays even though they are natives to the land.It is offensive statement from Dr. M.

Below is statement Dr. M that said he compare Orang Asli and Native Americans.

SEMENANJUNG TANAH MELAYU 2

As posted by Dr. Mahathir Mohamad at Che Det on March 10, 2011 9:30 AM

1. Someone asked what about the "Orang Asli" literally the "Original People". Weren't they in the peninsular before the Malays?

2. They could be. So are the Red Indians, the Maoris, the aborigines of Australia, the many tribal people in many countries of the world.

3. If we consider that the Orang Asli have more rights to claim Malaysia as their own then we should acknowledge and respect the rights of the Red Indians, the Maoris, the Australian aborigines and all the other aborigines to be given back the land we now call America, Australia, New Zealand etc.

4. Perhaps in recognition of their rights, they are now not so ill-treated and killed as they were when the Europeans seized their lands. But this is not the same as declaring that the countries belong to the people originally found there.

5. In Latin America there were native, indigenous or Orang Asli governments when the Europeans arrived. The Aztecs, the Mayas, the Incas had recognisable states. But the Spaniards and the Portuguese conquered their lands and set up new States and Governments. The world have recognised these states.

6. In Malaysia the Orang Asli are as much citizens of the country as are the people of other races. They had never set up their own states and governments.

7. When the Europeans came, the governments and the states they had to deal with were Malay. All treaties were made with the Malay Governments. Even the Japanese recognised the existence of these Malay States when they drove the British out of the peninsular.

8. Of course when the British came back, they had to gain the assent of the Malay rulers in order to set up the Malayan Union. All subsequent agreements were with Malay rulers and Malay political leaders.

9. It is important to note that the Malay rulers only recognised Malays as their natural "rakyat". They also recognised "Orang Asli" and non-Malays who had been assimilated as "rakyat". However, non-Malays who continued to identify themselves with their countries of origin were not regarded as rakyat.

10. It was only after the Malayan Union was formed that the concept of citizenship was created. Still those recognised as rakyat of the rulers were acknowledged through what came to be regarded as special positions.

11. This was enshrined in the constitution. But the constitution also made it clear that the non-Malay citizens also have special position. Thus they may retain their original identity, use their own home language (mother tongue?) and perpetuate their own culture. They also have the right to teach in their own languages in Government supported primary schools and can set up their own private secondary schools.

12. The setting up of schools which teach in their own languages is not to be confused with schools for teaching other languages.

13. We would like to see the end of all special privileges so that we can all be together. We should all be just Malaysians speaking and teaching in one national language, practitioners of one national culture, and owing loyalty only to this beloved country, Malaysia.

Last but no least, is Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Commission. Dr. M establish it to focus on victims of abuse in Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine. It's establish because unlawful invasion of Iraq by USA. But in May 2012, there are 5 people who admit that they are people behind the scene of this conspiracy.

Life as Prime Minister

In 1981, after Dr. M became Prime Minister, at that time, he was 56 years old. One of his first acts after been Prime Minister was to release 21 detainees held under the Internal Security Act (ISA). In ISA, there is few person Dr. M release from ISA. It is including Samad Ismail, journalist and a former deputy minister in Hussein’s government, Abdullah Ahmad, who had been suspected of being an underground communist.

In first two years been Prime Minister, his still caution when doing the jobs because he got enemies even from his own party. So he appointed his close friend, Musa Hitam, as Deputy Prime Minister that can help him in doing his jobs.

Even though in first two years he face a lot of barrier, but he did not give up continuing his jobs as Prime Minister.  In that two years, his power as President UMNO still strong and with the victory in general election 1982, he still bear to be President UMNO and Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Well when be Prime Minister, for sure Dr. M have many works to do to make sure Malaysia stable. 1983, Dr. M start the battles to protect people in Malaysia. In that years, power of Yang di-Pertuan Agong been question by public because some cases that involved Yang di-Pertuan Agong.  Dr. M tried to preemptively limit the power that the Agong could wield over his government. He introducing to parliament about deem  the Agong to assent to any bill that had not been assented within 15 days of passage by parliament. It is also would remove the power to declare a state of emergency from the Agong and placed it with the Prime Minister. Some of Agong is agree but when they realized that it is also deem Sultans to assent to laws passed by state assemblies, they disagree about it. When Dr. M got opposition from many sides, he makes demonstrate in street to show he did not satisfy with the decision. After 5 month, the crisis is solve by agreement by both sides.

There have many incidents that happen during Dr. M been Prime Minister such as been challenged by Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah. Dr. M been challenges for the presidency of UMNO. It is happen because Razaleigh gots support from Musa. Musa state that Dr. M did not trust him again and it is more like to revenge to Dr. M.

At final years as Prime Minister, Dr. M face many things until Dr. M announced that he would resign as Prime Minister. At that time, the supporters rush to stage and convince him to remain. But when he make the decision, he stick with the decision. On October 2003, he give the position to his anointed successor, Abdullah Badawi. Having spent over 22 Years in office, he was the world’s longest-serving leader.

Politic Career of Mahathir Mohamad

Why Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad enter politic? WHY WHY WHY? Its began when Dr. Mahathir was selected to be members of the House of Representative for Kota Setar Selatan in 1957 until 1964.

This is Dr. Mahathir when he young.

At 1964, there have election between UMNO and PAS. Dr. M win the election after defeating candidate from PAS with majority 60.2 majority. But in 1969, he lost the seat in election to Haji Yusoff Rawa (PAS candidates) by a mere 989 votes.

Well everyone knows about Dr. Mahathir's the way his talk. In 13 mei 1969, some say that he led a riot race and he distribute the letter that he write to Tunku Abdul Rahman to public. In that letter, he had critized about manner of Tunku handled this country's administration which Dr. M believed that it is more to Chinese people. Maybe some of readers think that Dr. Is racism but if he did not do like that, Malaysia nowadays is not belong to Malay anymore. I am not say that what he do is right but if we think in positive side, it is good. Because of this issue, in July he been sacked from UMNO.

After he been sacked from UMNO, he resumed back to medical practice. At that time, he wrote about The Malay Dilemma (1970). This is controversy book which some people say that in that book Dr. M is racism. But i can't say that because i did not read that book yet but i sure that the content is interesting.

The Malay Dilemma book

Must be wondering, what is the content? Okay i will tell you a bit but in other post. If your want to know more, you need to find this book in Book Fair at PWTC. I already found it but it is not for sale. Maybe you can find it at Book Fair at PWTC

On 7 March 1972, Dr. Was rejoined UMNO . The reason why he join UMNO back, i can't find it. In 1974, he was elected to be Member of Kubang Pasu by House of Representative after got some briefing about membership of Senate. But Dr. M relinquished the senatorship postition to be contestant in general election which is he was returned unopposed in the constituency of Kubang Pasu, and was then appointed as the Minister of Education.

In 1975, he been participate in general election and win 47 vote and be one of three-vice presidents of UMNO. Tun Hussein On had appointed Dr.  M as Deputy Prime Minister on 15 September 1978 and luckily when Cabinet been reshufffle, Dr. M was appointed to be the Minister of Trade and Industry (1977-1981). In 1981, Tun Hussein On was hand over the position as Prime Minister to Dr. M and automatically he became President of UMNO.

For your information, Dr. M has been Prime Minister since 1981 until 2003 before he hand over the position to Tun Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi. It is 22 years Dr. M became Prime Minister. It is was longest time as Prime Minister adn Dr. M had brought Malaysia to be known even though Malaysia only small country.

Mahathir after 22 years became PM. still look young (awet muda)

I sure that most of us know who is he. He is our former fourth Prime Minister. Actually I want to write about himself but well when goes to writing something, sometime we will turn up the story (melalut). Normal things right.
Okay now we move to biography Mahathir Mohamad in details. His real name is Mahathir bin Mohamad. Born in 10 July 1925 but have been register in 20 December 1925 because to make school registration became easier. Age of Mahathir now in 2013 is 88 years old. Wow!! Just plus 12 years more and 100 years old. Alhamdulillah. He from Lorong Kilang Ais, Seberang Perak, Alor Setar (so for those stay near with Mahathir's place, PLEASE be proud)He had 9 siblings and he is the last one. His father name is Mohamed Iskandar and his mother is Wan Tempawan Wan Hanapi.

Well like everyone, Mahathir also went to school (if not how he can be Prime Minister?). He have been school at Sekolah Melayu Seberang Perak, Alor Setar. After he graduated, he continue his study at Government English School (GES) now known as Kolej Sultan Abdul Hamid at Alor Setar in 1932. Actually there have a beautiful story behind of it. At the moment Mahathir study at Singapore, actually he already found his first love. That is his wife, Siti Hasmah binti Mohamad Ali. So sweet. Couple in the air.

Now I want to write about family after his married with Siti Hasmah. In 1954, Mahathir work as medical office at government service and on 5th August 1956, Mahathir married Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali. They were blessed with seven children, 4 sons and 3 daughters. Marina Mahathir, Mirzan Mahathir, Melinda Mahathir, Mokhzani Mahathir, Mukhriz Mahathir, Maizura Mahathir and Mazhar Mahathir. The Objectives

Assalamualaikum to all who read this blog. Have u see my blog title? Mahathir Mohamad - Father of Modernization!!! so this is about Mahathir. our fourth prime minister. okay well. maybe all know about him but let's me talk more about him. but first i am pretty sure that some of u must be asking why i want to talk about him.

FIRST: i have assignment about blog writing. all DEC semester 5 in KPMIM need to make one blog and write about some topic that had been given.

this our topic. ps: sorry for the picture.

so because of our assignment we to do this. but it is okay actually. we can know more about the topic that we choose. example, i choose topic about prime minister so i can know more about him. why he become prime minister, what kind of jobs that he had made? did he make Malaysia proud? all of this need to show in this blog.

okay. i forget to tell the objectives. my objectives when i choose this topic is:

# to enrich knowledge about Mahathir Mohamad
# to acknowledge the people about achievement of Mahathir Mohamad

for my first point, to enrich knowledge about Mahathir Mohamad. actually when i get this assignment I just think about him because as you know that all Malaysian know who is Mahathir Mohamad but nobody knows about him in details (except for his family and related). so for me it can help me know more about him.

my second point is to acknowledge the people about achievement of Mahathir Mohamad. as all of you know that Mahathir Mohamad is our former fourth Prime Minister but not all of us know what is his achievement towards Malaysia. maybe some of you know but generation Y did not know it (including me).
